MIGOP Precinct Delegate Appears to be Recruiting ICE Impersonators for Polls<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MIGOP delegate and election worker wants ICE cosplayers at the polls<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

MICHIGAN – Last week an Oakland County Republican Party precinct delegate for congressional district 6<\/a>, by the name of Roswell \u201cRoss\u201d Barranco, posted on Facebook that he was \u201clooking for volunteers to show up at the polls dressed up as ICE agents.\u201d Barranco was also employed as an election worker<\/a> for the city of Novi, which makes his Facebook post even more concerning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe all deserve to feel safe and free to vote how we wish,\u201d said Justin Mendoza, executive director of Progress Michigan<\/strong>. \u201cIt is bad enough that the Trump administration won\u2019t rule out sending ICE agents at the polls<\/a>. But now, Michigan Republicans are trying to deceive voters into a panic by recruiting people to impersonate ICE agents, which happens to be a federal crime. MIGOP Chairman Jim Runestad should either condemn that delegate\u2019s actions or clarify if this is a strategy that the MIGOP endorses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n
