In April, Trump referred to the war, saying, \u201cit should be ending pretty soon,\u201d and \u201cWe\u2019re very close to a deal with Iran.\u201d Nearly every week thereafter, Trump has claimed the war is almost over, declaring, \u201cWe\u2019re in final stages\u201d of a deal and that terms were \u201clargely negotiated<\/a>.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n As recently as yesterday, Trump said an agreement with Iran could be signed over the weekend, but just this morning, Trump continued<\/a> to make new threats towards Iran, raising the possibility of new military strikes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, JD Vance in March said<\/a>, \u201cThere\u2019s just no way Donald Trump is going to allow this country to get into a multi-year conflict with no clear end in sight and no clear objective.\u201d But in an interview this week, he offered no clarity on the status of the negotiations or timeline for the war after he failed<\/a> to negotiate an end to the war earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In response, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDonald Trump\u2019s deadly and costly war with Iran has been an unmitigated disaster that has cost the lives of over a dozen service members and sent the economy into a tailspin.
