June 15, 2026—The Democracy Alliance issued the following statement following reports that federal agents raided an office of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative and showed up at employees’ homes last week.

“The Democracy Alliance condemns in the strongest possible terms last week’s FBI raid on the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a respected pro-democracy organization that for nearly two decades has helped Ohioans register and exercise their right to vote.

This is more than an attack on one organization. It’s the latest step in a deliberate strategy by this administration to keep Black and brown people from voting and control the outcomes of our elections. 

Last week’s raids echo a dark and familiar history. From voter suppression and intimidation to the criminalization of civil rights organizing, attacks on Black political power have long been used to limit democratic participation. We will not stand by silently as the same strategies are deployed today.

These attacks are designed to sow fear and silence, and it is especially important for all of us to use our voices. Everyone who cares about the integrity of our elections and the future of our democracy should be paying attention and speaking out.

The Democracy Alliance is proud to stand in full solidarity with the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, its staff, and with everyone who is working to protect the freedom to vote all across our country.”
